Journal Cover

The Las Vegas Modern Quilt Guild hosted a Journal Cover swap.  We each picked a fat quarter, randomly swapped, and used that as our inspiration to make the cover for the recipient.

The fabric I had was Bangle from Valori Wells Karavan line in Peacock.  I added Joel Dewberry's Herringbone in Lake on the fold of the cover and some Kona Nightfall on the edge.  The machine embroidery I added was my attempt at finding a design that matched the fabric well - this has circles and the accents that mirrored the Bangle print.

Here's an open shot of it. I used the tutorial at Bloom and Blossom and the measurements of my post over on the LVMQG website.

I hope she likes it!

  1. Very creative journal cover with a great embroidery edge. Love where your mind goes with color and design.

  2. I really like this did a fantastic job! I'm sure Andrea is planning something creative in it right now.... ;-)
